והוה כד שיצי שלמה למבני ית בית מקדשא דיי וית בית מלכא וית כל רעות שלמה דאתרעי למעבד:
lmebd dathrey shlmh rewth kl wyth mlka byth wyth dyy mqdsha byth yth lmbny shlmh shytsy kd whwh
When Solomon had finished the building of Yahweh’s house, the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to do,

ואתגלי יי לשלמה תנינות כמא דאתגלי ליה בגבעון:
bgbewn lyh dathgly kma thnynwth lshlmh yy wathgly
Yahweh appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.

ואמר ליה שמיע קדמי צלותך ובעותך דבעיתא מן קדמי אקדישית ית ביתא הדין די בניתא לאשראה שכנתי תמן עד עלמא ותהי שכנתי שריא ביה אם רעותי מתעבדא תמן כל יומיא:
ywmya kl thmn mthebda rewthy am byh shrya shknthy wthhy elma ed thmn shknthy lashrah bnytha dy hdyn bytha yth aqdyshyth qdmy mn dbeytha wbewthk tslwthk qdmy shmye lyh wamr
Yahweh said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you have made before me. I have made this house holy, which you have built, to put my name there forever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

ואת אם תהך קדמי כמא דהליך דוד אבוך בקשיטות לבא ובתריצותא למעבד ככל דפקידתך קימי ודיני תטר:
thTr wdyny qymy dpqydthk kkl lmebd wbthrytswtha lba bqshyTwth abwk dwd dhlyk kma qdmy thhk am wath
As for you, if you will walk before me as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and will keep my statutes and my ordinances,

ואקים ית כורסי מלכותך על ישראל לעלם כמא דמללית עם דוד אבוך למימר לא יפסוק לך גבר מעל כורסי מלכותא דישראל:
dyshral mlkwtha kwrsy mel gbr lk ypswq la lmymr abwk dwd em dmllyth kma lelm yshral el mlkwthk kwrsy yth waqym
then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail from you a man on the throne of Israel.’

אם מיתב תתובון אתון ובניכון מבתר פולחני ולא תטרון פקודי קימי די יהבית קדמיכון ותהכון ותפלחון לטעות עממיא ותסגדון להון:
lhwn wthsgdwn emmya lTewth wthplkhwn wthhkwn qdmykwn yhbyth dy qymy pqwdy thTrwn wla pwlkhny mbthr wbnykwn athwn ththwbwn mythb am
But if you turn away from following me, you or your children, and not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods and worship them,

ואשיצי ית ישראל מעל אפי ארעא די יהבית להון וית ביתא דאקדישית לשמי ארחיק מקביל מימרי ויהי ישראל למתל ולשועי בכל עממיא:
emmya bkl wlshwey lmthl yshral wyhy mymry mqbyl arkhyq lshmy daqdyshyth bytha wyth lhwn yhbyth dy area apy mel yshral yth washytsy
then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and I will cast this house, which I have made holy for my name, out of my sight; and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

וביתא הדין דהוה עילאי יהי חריב כל דיעבר עלוהי יכלי וינוד ויימרון על מה עבד יי כדין לארעא הדא ולביתא הדין:
hdyn wlbytha hda larea kdyn yy ebd mh el wyymrwn wynwd ykly elwhy dyebr kl khryb yhy eylay dhwh hdyn wbytha
Though this house is so high, yet everyone who passes by it will be astonished and hiss; and they will say, ‘Why has Yahweh done this to this land and to this house?’

וימרון על די שבקו ית פולחנא דיי אלההון דאפיק ית אבהתהון מארעא דמצרים ואתקיפו בטעות עממיא וסגידו להון ופלחונון על כן איתי יי עליהון ית כל בישתא הדא:
hda byshtha kl yth elyhwn yy aythy kn el wplkhwnwn lhwn wsgydw emmya bTewth wathqypw dmtsrym marea abhthhwn yth dapyq alhhwn dyy pwlkhna yth shbqw dy el wymrwn
and they will answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them, and served them. Therefore Yahweh has brought all this evil on them.’”

והוה מסוף עשרין שנין די בנא שלמה ית תרין בתיא ית בית מקדשא דיי וית בית מלכא:
mlka byth wyth dyy mqdsha byth yth bthya thryn yth shlmh bna dy shnyn eshryn mswp whwh
At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, Yahweh’s house and the king’s house

חירם מלכא דצור סובר ית שלמה באעי ארזין ובאעי בירון ובדהבא לכל צורכיה בכן יהיב מלכא שלמה לחירם עסרין קרוין בארעא גלילא:
glyla barea qrwyn esryn lkhyrm shlmh mlka yhyb bkn tswrkyh lkl wbdhba byrwn wbaey arzyn baey shlmh yth swbr dtswr mlka khyrm
(now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and cypress trees, and with gold, according to all his desire), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

ונפק חירם מצור למסער ית קירויא דיהב ליה שלמה ולא כשרין בעינוהי:
beynwhy kshryn wla shlmh lyh dyhb qyrwya yth lmser mtswr khyrm wnpq
Hiram came out of Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they didn’t please him.

ואמר מה קרויא האלין די יהבת לי אחי וקרא להון ארעא כבול עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed kbwl area lhwn wqra akhy ly yhbth dy halyn qrwya mh wamr
He said, “What cities are these which you have given me, my brother?” He called them the land of Cabul to this day.

ושדר חירם למלכא מאה ועשרין ככרי דהבא:
dhba kkry weshryn mah lmlka khyrm wshdr
Hiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.

ודין פתגם מסגי מסין דמני מלכא שלמה למבני ית בית מקדשא דיי וית ביתיה וית מליתא וית שורא דירושלם וית חצור וית מגדו וית גזר:
gzr wyth mgdw wyth khtswr wyth dyrwshlm shwra wyth mlytha wyth bythyh wyth dyy mqdsha byth yth lmbny shlmh mlka dmny msyn msgy pthgm wdyn
This is the reason of the forced labor which King Solomon conscripted: to build Yahweh’s house, his own house, Millo, Jerusalem’s wall, Hazor, Megiddo, and Gezer.

פרעה מלכא דמצרים סליק וכבש ית גזר ואוקדה בנורא וית כנענאה דיתיב בקרתא קטל ויהבה מתנן לברתיה אתת שלמה:
shlmh athth lbrthyh mthnn wyhbh qTl bqrtha dythyb knenah wyth bnwra wawqdh gzr yth wkbsh slyq dmtsrym mlka preh
Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, taken Gezer, burned it with fire, killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a wedding gift to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

ובנא שלמה ית גזר וית בית חורון ארעאה:
areah khwrwn byth wyth gzr yth shlmh wbna
Solomon built in the land Gezer, Beth Horon the lower,

וית בעלת וית תדמור במדברא בארעא:
barea bmdbra thdmwr wyth belth wyth
Baalath, Tamar in the wilderness,
19
וית כל קירוי אוצריא די הואה לשלמה וית קירוי רתיכיא וית קירוי פרשיא וית כל רעות שלמה דאתרעי למבני בירושלם ובליבנן ובכל ארע שולטניה:
shwlTnyh are wbkl wblybnn byrwshlm lmbny dathrey shlmh rewth kl wyth prshya qyrwy wyth rthykya qyrwy wyth lshlmh hwah dy awtsrya qyrwy kl wyth
all the storage cities that Solomon had, the cities for his chariots, the cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build for his pleasure in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

כל עמא דאשתאר מן אמוראה חתאי פריזאי חואי ויבוסאי דלא מבני ישראל אינון:
aynwn yshral mbny dla wybwsay khway pryzay khthay amwrah mn dashthar ema kl
As for all the people who were left of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel—

בניהון דאשתארו בתריהון בארעא דלא יכילו בני ישראל לגמרותהון ומנינון שלמה למסקי מסין עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed msyn lmsqy shlmh wmnynwn lgmrwthhwn yshral bny ykylw dla barea bthryhwn dashtharw bnyhwn
their children who were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel were not able utterly to destroy—of them Solomon raised a levy of bondservants to this day.

ומבני ישראל לא יהב שלמה למהוי פלחין ארי אינון גבר עבדי קרבא ועבדוהי ורברבנוהי וגברוהי ורבני רתיכוהי ופרשוהי:
wprshwhy rthykwhy wrbny wgbrwhy wrbrbnwhy webdwhy qrba ebdy gbr aynwn ary plkhyn lmhwy shlmh yhb la yshral wmbny
But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

אילין רבני אסטרטיגיא די ממנן על עבדתא דשלמה חמש מאה וחמשין די מפלחין בעמא דעבדין בעבדתא:
bebdtha debdyn bema mplkhyn dy wkhmshyn mah khmsh dshlmh ebdtha el mmnn dy asTrTygya rbny aylyn
These were the five hundred fifty chief officers who were over Solomon’s work, who ruled over the people who labored in the work.

ברם בת פרעה סליקת מקרתא דדוד לביתא די בנא לה בכן בנא ית מליתא:
mlytha yth bna bkn lh bna dy lbytha ddwd mqrtha slyqth preh bth brm
But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of David’s city to her house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built Millo.

ואסיק שלמה תלת זמנין בשתא עלון ונכסת קודשין על מדבחא דבנא קדם יי ומקטר עלוהי קטורת בוסמיא די קדם יי ושלים ית ביתא:
bytha yth wshlym yy qdm dy bwsmya qTwrth elwhy wmqTr yy qdm dbna mdbkha el qwdshyn wnksth elwn bshtha zmnyn thlth shlmh wasyq
Solomon offered burnt offerings and peace offerings on the altar which he built to Yahweh three times per year, burning incense with them on the altar that was before Yahweh. So he finished the house.
26
וספינתא עבד שלמה מלכא בעציון גבר דעם אילות על כיף ימא דסוף בארעא דאדום:
dadwm barea dswp yma kyp el aylwth dem gbr betsywn mlka shlmh ebd wspyntha
King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

ושדר חירם בספינתא ית עבדוהי גברין ספנין דאומנין לדברא בימא עם עבדי שלמה:
shlmh ebdy em byma ldbra dawmnyn spnyn gbryn ebdwhy yth bspyntha khyrm wshdr
Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.
